Rantings of a Sane Woman! (Episode 1)

The title "Rantings of a Sane Woman!" will be used again and again for those times when, well when I feel the need to RANT! So, reassure you will see more of these! Episode 1: "No, Give Me A Break!" Today started out as any other...I got up, got dressed and my usual daily phone call from my mother came but this time she informed me that she wanted Wisdom (my daughter) to go with her cousins to the doctors. Well, we discussed this last night and I don't want my daughter going--point blank! Her Aunt isn't responsible--not even when it comes to her own children--especially when it comes to her own children! She then informed me that she needed a break! She needed a break! Now that's the cat calling the dog meow! (yeah, I've got a million of 'em) My daughter--for whom I would lay down my life without a micro-seconds hesitation, has never been away from me a day since birth! (She'll be 4 next mth) Not to spend the night with her cousins, a night over my girlfriends--not even with her father's side of the family (and that's for a whole lot of other reasons). My daughter even sleeps with me! Is that my fault...sometimes--but hey, a lot of times I wake up and there she is with her beautiful face, fat cheeks (I love those fat-cheeks) cured up in a ball--right under my left arm pit! And don't get me wrong, Wisdom has her own room. I've decorated her room with every Pretty Perfect Princess item made!

TV, DVD Player, CD Player, Stove, Bed, Night Stand, Vanity, Couch, Chest, Lamps, Bookcase, Curtains, Bedspread, Enchanted Mirror, Mosquito Net, Cloths, Dolls, Flash Lights, Dishes, Shoes, Make-up, Calendar, Boarders, Clay Dough, Microphones, Cell Phones, Portable CD, Players, Mouse Pad, Flash Cards, Crayons, Towel set, Coloring Books, Markers, Sticker Albums, Pocket Mirrors, Motorized Toothbrushes, Uno Cards, Framed Posters, Removable Jumbo Wall Stickers--you name it, I've probably bought it! I've even made her very own Pretty Prefect Princess Bingo Game and Bookmarks!

But where does my daughter prefer to sleep? Right under my left arm pit...I can't believe it. And her room is down right lovely--I mean, absolutely lovely! (Not junky, I know whatcah thinkin') But seriously...I'm just saying I need a break, before I break!

Traditionally, in my family the mothers leave the children with the grandparents while they're either in school, working, courting, you name it, the grandmother was indeed the guardian. However, when it comes to me--no such option! Now, before you get ahead of yourself, it's by choice. That's right, by choice. I had my daughter and I feel she's my responsibility. Now, don't get me wrong my mother does and is helping me...tremendously. And I love, appreciate and thank her for that. But outside of work, school, studying, martial arts, walking and self defense class my daughters pretty much with me...hmmm. That's an awful lot of activities, now isn't it? Well again, before you get ahead of yourself, allow me to explain...
  1. Work: 8:15 to 4:30pm M-F - Pretty typical. My daughter's in school 8:30 to 3:15pm.
  2. School: Between 6-9pm M, Wed & Thurs.
  3. Studying: Usually around 8 or 9pm I'll review the video tape of my previous class (pretty ingenious dontcha think?) During Finals yes, I'm studying like crazy, sun up, sun down.
  4. Martial Arts: Haven't started (It's on my To Do List--actually, I'm going to pay for my sessions today after work--and my daughter will be going too! As well as taking classes, she's going to be in the "Little Ninjas" (Isn't that just too cute!)
  5. Walking: I walk on my lunch break, 2 to 4miles a day and when I walk at home who's with me? That's right, my lovely daughter--which I love, I'm just pointing out that my mother doesn't have her during this time.
  6. Self Defense Class: 6:15 to 7:15pm, Thurs only--yes, I was late to chemistry class every week--but I still passed the class with a very strong "B".

You see, my mother doesn't have my daughter all the time...well, I guess neither do I. Perhaps she does need a break...I said perhaps, fore I know I need one! Hew! All this and it isn't even noon yet! Hehehe!

Ahh, I feel better...thanks for listening--well, reading the rantings of a sane woman!

Happy Birthday, Wisdom!

Story #3

The night before her birthday, Wisdom could hardly sleep; she was too excited about her birthday party. “I can’t wait ‘til tomorrow, it’s my birthday!” She joyfully told Mr. Floppy her toy rabbit. “I’m gonna get cake and ice cream and all kinds of toys!” She continued telling her toys. Suddenly in walks Mommy, “Wisdom, sweetie, it’s past your bedtime. You have to goto bed now.” “I can’t mommy, I’m too excited!” “I know you are, but sweetie you need your rest. Please, try to get some sleep, for me?” “Ok, but I can’t promise anything.” “Should we say our prayers again?” Asked Mommy. “Nope, I’m, pretty sure God remembers we said them already.” “Well Alright, get some sleep and I’ll see you in the morning. Goodnight Wisdom, I love you, you know?” “I know. I love you too, mommy. Night-night.” And with that Mommy turns off the light and leaves softly closing the door behind her. In bed Wisdom laid, but couldn’t sleep. She tried closing her eyes as tight as she could, but that didn’t work. She tried pulling the covers over her head, that didn’t work either. She even tried counting sheep, but she could only count to the number ten. Suddenly we hear the voice of God calling, “Wisdom my love, why can’t you sleep?” “Hi, God!” “Hello, Wisdom. Why aren’t you asleep, my child?” “Oh God, I’m too excited! Do you know what tomorrow is?” “But of course I do, it’s your birthday!” “Yeah! And I can’t sleep! I keep thinking about all those toys and cake and ice cream!” “Is that all you’re thinking about is the toys, cake and ice cream?” “Huh? Well, yes, ‘cause that’s what you get on your birthday, right?” “There’s so much more to birthday’s than that, Wisdom.” “Huh?” “Yes, just listen; do your remember the story of me sending my son, Jesus down to save the world?” “Yes! That’s my favorite! Jesus, died so I could live!” “That’s right! And do you know that Jesus has a birthday?” “Yeah, it’s Christmas!” “Your right again! Well, Jesus wouldn’t want people thinking that birthdays are all about ‘receiving’--no, it’s about ‘giving’.” “Well, if someone ‘gives’ me something, isn’t that ‘receiving’?” “Yes, but the true gift is in the ‘giving’.” “God, I don’t understand.” “Wasn’t it a blessing that Jesus ‘gave’ his life so that world may live?” “Oh yes, Lord!” “Of course it was! See Wisdom, it is always better to ‘give’ than to ‘receive’, understand?” “Oh yeah, I get it now!” “Good.” “Grandma was so happy when I ‘gave’ her those flowers!” “She sure was.” “And Uncle John was so excited when I ‘gave’ him the picture of a lady-bug I drew!” “Now you’ve got it!” “And God, I’m thankful that you ‘gave’ me another day to live. And I’m thankful that you ‘gave’ me a such a great mommy!” “Yes! I do believe you’ve got it! But, I think you should get to bed now, like your mother said.” “Ok God, goodnight.” “Goodnight, Wisdom.” So Wisdom fell right to sleep. The next morning while everyone downstairs was preparing for the birthday party, Wisdom remained closed up in her room. “Wisdom, are you coming out?” Asked Mommy from behind the closed door. “I’m coming. Just give me one more second mommy, please!” “Well ok, but we’re about ready to start--and we can’t rightly start without the guest of honor.” So Mommy headed back downstairs. Meanwhile downstairs guests are arriving piling gifts upon gifts. “Wisdom, you’re being rude, now! Your guest are waiting for you.” Calls Mommy from downstairs. “I’m coming, mommy!” Shouts Wisdom rushing down the stairs. As Wisdom reaches the archway the guest start singing ‘Happy Birthday’. All the while Wisdom’s holding a large box not so neatly wrapped in newspaper. Once the singing ended Wisdom wanted to make an announcement. “Thank you everybody for coming and bring all those gifts. But I’ve decided it’s better to ‘give’ than to ‘receive’--God, said that didn’t he, mommy?” “Yes he did, sweet-heart.” “Mommy, I’ve decided to give you a gift on my birthday.” And Wisdom handed the box to Mommy. Mommy couldn’t stop staring at the paper. “What is it, Wisdom?” “Open it and see!” “Alright.” So Mommy neatly unwrapped the box and stared into it. “Ahh, sweetie, there’s nothing in here.” “Yes it is, mommy! I filled every inch with kisses just for you!” As she fought back tears she swapped Wisdom up into her arms and hugged her as tight as she could and said, “Thank you, baby! That’s the best ‘gift’ anyone could ever receive!” And so they ate cake and ice cream while Wisdom opened her gifts ending the day as God would have it...giving, not just receiving. The End.

Wisdom, Prays For Her Mommy!

Story #9 One winters day Mommy was setting at her computer working very hard on another children’s book. She was having a very hard time coming up with ten new stories by her deadline, when in walked Wisdom with her favorite toy, Mr. Floppy. “Hi, mommy! What are you doing?” “Hi, sweetie. Mommy’s trying to work on some more new stories.” “Are they about me?” “Huh?” “Mommy, are they still about me?” “Huh, what? Yes, yes, Wisdom, they are.” “Can I read it mommy?” “What?!?” “Can I read it?” “Wisdom, mommy’s under a lot of pressure right now. So, please let mommy work.” “But, I just wanted to read it.” “Wisdom!” Yells Mommy, “Go play in your room!” Wisdom’s eyes fill with tears as clings tightly to Mr. Floppy and leaves. Mommy was too busy to notice the hurt in Wisdom’s eyes. Wisdom walked to the family room where grandma was reading the daily paper. She needed someone to explain why Mommy was so mean to her. “Grandma?” “Hey, precious flower!” “Nana, mommy just yelled at me.” “Are you sure, Wisdom?” Asked Grandma as she put her paper aside. “Yes, I’m sure. I just wanted to read the story she was working on and she yelled at me.” “Wisdom, come sit on grandma’s lap. Now listen to me, I’m sure mommy didn’t mean to yell at you. Your mommy’s under a lot of stress about the books she’s writing.” “I know, but she hurt my feelings.” “Sweetie, I will have a talk with her and I’m sure she will apologize.” “She will?!?” “Sure! See, she’s your mommy, but I’m her mommy!” Then Grandma and Wisdom laughed and hugged. Once Wisdom left the family room she went to her bedroom. Once inside she started playing with her toys and God decided it was a prefect time to have a talk with her. “Wisdom, my treasure?” “Yes, God?” “I know it hurt you when your mommy yelled at you.” “Yes, it did.” “I’m glad your grandma saw fit to comfort you.” “Me too!” “But, there’s something you could do for your mother.” “Huh? But she yelled at me!” “I know this, but if you pray for her that would help with her stress and allow for her to concentrate on her work.” “Who me? Pray for a grown-up?!?” “Yes, children should always pray for their parents.” “You mean prayer isn’t just for stuff you want, it’s for others too?!?” “That’s right. Hypocrites teach to only pray for themselves. But My word specifically says pray for everything. Therefore, that includes parents.” “Wow, you mean my prayers could help mommy!” “That’s right.” “Wow!” “God, I promise before I goto sleep tonight, I will include mommy in my prayers!” “That would be fine.” Later that afternoon, Mommy came into Wisdom’s room wanting to apologize. “Wisdom, can we talk?” Asked Mommy as she took a seat on Wisdom’s bed. “Sure, mommy.” “Come sit next to me. There’s something I need to say to you.” “What mommy?” “Mommy owes you an apology. I’m so sorry I yelled at you, Wisdom. Mommy’s under a lot of stress--but that’s no excuse for my yelling at you. I just want you to know I was wrong and very sorry.” “Oh, that’s ok mommy. I understand.” “So you forgive me?” “Of course I do!” “Well, can I have a then!” And they embrace. Mommy was about to leave when Wisdom called to her again. “Mommy, tonight I’m going to pray for you.” “What?!?” “Yeah, God says we should pray for everything and that includes parents.” “Well, God’s Word does say that. Baby, mommy truly appreciate your prayers. And you know what?” “What?” “I always pray for you!” Wisdom gasped as Mommy walked out the room. Later that night we find Wisdom knelt beside her bed in prayer. “Dear God, tonight I’m going to pray for mommy. God, mommy needs your help, she’s under a lot of stress ‘cause she needs to write some books. So please God, help her find a way to write her books so we can spend more time together and so she won’t be so stressed.” Wisdom was just about to get up when she remember one last prayer she needed to add, “Oh yeah God, mommy yelled at me today, but she didn’t mean to. So God, please forgive her, I did! Amen.” The next morning Wisdom went into the den to find Mommy on the phone. “Oh that’s great, Tom! I really could use the extra time to finish the books! Thanks, goodbye!” “Mommy who was that?” “Sweetheart, that was mommy’s publicist and guess what?” Mommy asked with such glee. “What mommy?” “Mommy’s publishing company is giving her two extra weeks to work on the books!” Grandma walked in just in time to her the good news. “That’s wonderful news, sweetheart!” Adds Grandma. “Thanks, ma.” Replies Mommy. “That’s good, right mommy!” “Good, is right! And guess what else?” “What, mommy?” “Last night around mid-night, God blessed me with all sorts of ideas for books to write! Look I’ve written five books already!” Mommy holds up a stake of papers to show both her mother and Wisdom. “Wow, mommy, that’s great!” “Wisdom, I know you prayed for me last night, ‘cause look at all these wonderful blessing God gave me!” “I sure did!” “And with all the extra time mommy has left; I’ll be able to spend more time with you and write more books! !” “That’s great, mommy! See, God does answer prayers!” And mommy and Wisdom embrace and since Mommy’s no long under stress, the three of them talked the whole morning long. And as Wisdom said, “God does answer prayers.” The End.

Wisdom, It's Time To Be Born!!

Story #1 This book is dedicated to my beautiful, anointed and loving daughter, Wisdom and Blessed Mother, Trina. And to all whom believe and need to believe in GOD, with a special dedication to ‘Us’...the Single Mother...God Loves ‘Us’ and our ‘Children’ too!!! One day while sitting on His thrown, God decided this would be a prefect day to make someone a mother. “I will send a gift to a ‘she’, making her a Mother-To-Be!” So He thought of all the babies He could send--and then it came to Him. “Wisdom! Oh Wisdom, where are you!?!” “Here I am, God. You called me?” “Yes I did. Wisdom, my angle, it’s time!” “Time? Time for what?” “It’s time to be born!” “Really, God!?! “Yes, yes it is.” Then Wisdom realized what being born would mean. “Oh God, I don’t wanna be born.” “Why not, sweetie?” “’Cause I don’t wanna leave you.” “Oh my little sheep, you could never leave me nor I you. You see my child, I will never see the righteous forsaken.” “Really?” “Really.” “But, God I won’t be able to see you anymore.” “Well, just because you can’t see me, doesn’t mean I’m not there.” “Huh?” “Listen, I know I’m God and you know I’m God, right?” “Uh-huh.” “Well, there are some people that don’t believe in me--” “What!?! Not believe in you, God!?!” “I’m afraid so.” “But why?” “Sweetie, now that’s along story--but just listen, just because they don’t believe in me; does that mean I cease to exist?” “No! ‘Cause I believe in you and I know you’re real!” “Of course you do! So just because they don’t believe in me doesn’t mean I’m not God.” “Nope!” “Good...and just because you can’t see me doesn’t mean I’m not there, understand?” “Oh yeah! I’ve got it now!” “Good. So lets go see your new mom!” “Yea!” So, God takes Wisdom’s tiny delicate hand in His and they walk over to God’s enormous looking-glass and God points and says: Wisdom, that woman will be your mother.” “Her? She’s pretty.” “Yes she is and she has a beautiful spirit, that’s one of the reasons I chose her.” Wisdom then hides underneath God’s long anointed robe and asks: Will she love me?” “Of course she will.” “Will she love me more than you?” God pulls Wisdom from underneath His robe and lifts her lovingly up into His blessed arms and replies, “No one can do that, Wisdom.” And they embrace. Wisdom has a very troubled look on her face and God asks, “What is it, my child?” “God?” “Yes.” “Once I’m born, will I ever see you again?” “Worry not, my precious little flower; you will return soon enough. But I have a work that you must do.” “Who me?” “Yes you, for you are a wise and blessed child. You will spread the Goodness of me to all that you know and see. Can you do that for me?” “I can do that for you.” ‘I know you can, but first you must be born.” “Ok then, you know best.” “Good.” Just then Wisdom peered down and saw a troubling look about her mother’s face. “Oh God, look! Mommy seems scared!” “Not scared, because fear is not of me. But she is a little worried about telling your father you’re coming.” “God?” “Yes, Wisdom.” “Isn’t my ‘coming’ a good thing?” “Of course it is! Children are always a blessing from me!” “Oh goodie!” As we take a closer look into God’s looking-glass we can see and hear what’s taking place...”So your pregnant, huh?” “Yes James, I am.” “Ok...so I guess we will have to put a rush on those rings, huh?” “Really?” “Yeah, I guess.” Meanwhile, back up in Heaven...”Oh goody! Daddy’s gonna marry mommy!” “Wisdom, I’m already married to your mother.” “God, you’re my daddy?” “Wisdom, I’m everyone’s Father.” “Even those people you said don’t believe in you?” “Yes, them too. They’re blind now, but one day they too shall see.” “Ok God, does this mean I’m gonna have two daddy’s?” “Wisdom my love, you’ll always have two fathers. One physical and Me, Spiritual.” “Cool!” “Cool, is right! Listen to me, Wisdom. I would have preferred your physical father to have married to your mother long ago. But even if your physical father doesn’t marry your mother, I will always be married to her--for she’s my bride-groom! And you will always have two fathers--him and Me. No matter what anyone says you have a Father and His name’s Jesus, understand?” “I sure do! I love you...daddy.” They embrace again. “Look daddy, mommy’s crying! Why is she crying!?!” “Well sweetness, your physical father is frighten of his responsibilities towards you.” “Doesn’t daddy know fear is not of you like mommy does?” “I’m afraid your physical father doesn’t know Me like he should.” “Do you mean he doesn’t believe in you?” “Oh no, he believes in Me, but he doesn’t trust in Me--not like he should.” “Mommy trusts in you.” “She sure does.” “I trust in you too!” “I know you do.” “Huh, if daddy’s scared, then why is mommy crying?” “You are so wise, my child! Well Wisdom, mommy’s worried. She wants the best for you and she ‘thinks’ she might have to handle things alone--she ‘thinks’.” “She’s not alone! God, tell her that you will always be with her! Tell her! Tell her, God please, so mommy will stop crying!” “I have, Wisdom, and I will continue to remind her. Even if she has Faith of a mustard seed, she can withstand all things through me and that because of my love which strengthens her!” “God, is that why you said she ‘thinks’ she might be by herself; but she won’t ‘cause you’ll always be there?” “Exactly! You’re so wise!” “Thank you!” “You’re quite welcome!” “God?” “Yes?” “Can mommy hear you like I can?” “Yes Wisdom, she can. For my flock knows my voice.” “Then why is she still crying?” “She’s still crying because this is her way of releasing her body from stress. Once she’s done crying she will feel a re-newed strength and Faith in me. See, she stopped crying.” “God, you’re a pretty smart guy.” “I tend to think so. So are you, that’s why I named you ‘Wisdom’, for you are wise.” Wisdom peers down one last time before God sends her on her way. “Look mommy’s in the hospital--look there’s grandma and granddad, and uncles Kylyn, John & Todd! God, who are all those other people?” “Those are close friends to your mother--you remember your God-Mother Jaki, don’t you?” “Oh yeah!” “The rest are doctors and nurses who will help during your delivery.” “Oh.” “So...are you ready, it’s getting pretty close to that time.” “I’m scared--will it hurt?” “No, sweetie you won’t feel and thing.” “Will it hurt mommy?” “Well, she will feel some discomfort, but once she hears and sees you, she will say you’re worth it!” “Ok, then I’m ready--but, I need one more hug, daddy!” And Wisdom wraps her tiny little arms around God’s tender neck and holds on for dear life. “Ok God, I’m ready. I’m not scared anymore, ‘cause I just remembered you will always be with me.” “That’s right, I will...and I Am.” And with that God waved His miraculous arm in the air and in a flash Wisdom was gone from His heavenly embrace and pushing her way into this wondrous world. And with a slight cry from the doctors hand upon her bottom we can hear Wisdom’s mother whisper, “She’s worth it.” The End.
